Forensic research / Identification
We are regularly asked to identify (tropical) flowering plants or to solve forensic issues with our expertise in mainly pollen morphology and molecular plant biology. We are happy to contribute to the solution. Please contact Koen Geuten with any particular requests.

SEM / CPD
The Laboratory of Plant Systematics is equiped with a Jeol JSM 6360 scanning electron microscope with digital imaging that is also available for external users.
We can also execute the prior preparation techniques, such as CPD and Au-sputter coating. In most cases, treating and observation of samples can be arranged in a short period of time (1-3 weeks).
Below, you can find a list of the current prices for the use of our SEM services, according to three categories of users; researchers of the K.U.Leuven Department of Biology, K.U.Leuven researchers, and external users. The SEM is operated by an operator of the Laboratory of Plant Systematics, who can also give advise for/assist with the prior preparations.
Het Laboratorium voor Plantensystematiek is uitgerust met een Jeol JSM 6360 rasterelektronenmicroscoop voorzien van digitale beeldvorming, die wij ook ter beschikking stellen van externe gebruikers.
Wij kunnen tevens de voorbereidende preparaties doen zoals kritisch puntdrogen en met goud bestuiven (Au-sputter coating). In regel kunnen wij deze diensten, observatie inbegrepen, binnen een periode van 1 tot 3 weken leveren.
Hieronder vindt u een prijslijst voor drie categorieën van gebruikers; onderzoekers van het Departement Biologie van de K.U.Leuven en co-auteurs van onderzoeksprojecten van/met ons laboratorium, andere onderzoekers verbonden aan de K.U.Leuven, en externe gebruikers. De REM wordt bediend door een operator van het Laboratorium voor Plantensystematiek, die u tevens advies geven kan ivm. de voorbereidende stappen.
