The purpose of the IAWA Forum is to facilitate science and community within the world of wood anatomy and related sciences. Anyone is welcome to join regardless of membership in the IAWA. One must be a subscribed member to post a message. Please note that the IAWA Forum is not controlled by IAWA nor is it meant to represent all the diverse views in IAWA. It is a voluntary electronic mechanism people can use to discuss information and make announcements within the broad scope that coincides with IAWA's scope.
You are welcome to post questions about scientific issues or techniques. You can also make informational postings, such as announcements of meetings, seminars, workshops, books, papers, wood anatomy news, and opportunities for employment or study. We are a diverse group, and include all sorts of people with various interests.
We do not want to serve as a place for advertisers to sell their products, but discussion of their products and occasional announcements may be appropriate.
To subscribe:
Send a message to majordomo@cof.orst.edu from the e-mail address (or addresses) that you will want to use if you ever send a post. In the body, put the word “subscribe iawa” (without the quotation marks).
To unsubscribe:
Send a message to majordomo@cof.orst.edu and in the body, put the word “unsubscribe iawa” (without the quotation marks).
To post a message:
Once you are subscribed, send a message to iawa@cof.orst.edu. Your message will go to the whole forum. If it is rejected, most likely you have sent it from an e-mail address different from the one with which you subscribed. Please note the topic of your contribution on the subject line.
To reply to a posting:
If you simply “reply”, your message will go only to the person who sent the message to the Forum. If you want your reply to go to the whole Forum, then post it, as above, instead.
It would be very nice if the person who originally made a post were to summarize and post the responses.
