Emerging eco-evolutionary framework of how trait values of a local community can adapt to local environmental conditions or environmental change by local adjustment, either through species sorting or genotype sorting through local genetic adaptation, or may be fueled by immigration of new species or genotypes from the regional species/genotype pool. Studying the interactions between these different types of responses is central to the Excellence Center.
